Abby being Abby

Abby was being her usual entertaining self the other night and James was smart enough to grab the camera to document it...these are a few of the best ones. As you can see, she is not short on personality!

The Rest of the Week

My best intentions for posting every day while James were gone only lasted until Tuesday...life got a little hectic. Anyway, these are a few more shots from the rest of the week.

How big is Abby? Not as big as a polar bear!

We got to go to the zoo one more time with some of Abby's friends (Ransom on left, Hayden on right). We'll miss not having a zoo less than 10 minutes away, but enjoyed each visit with friends.

Abby telling the black bear goodbye

On Sunday, James let me sleep in and Abby (and dad) made me my first homemade Mother's Day card. We took this shot as we were rushing out to church. Wanted to document Abby's cute dress and pigtails while they were still in. And for those of you who keep asking how big my belly is...as Abby would say, "so big."

My Shadow

My Shadow by Robert Louis Stevenson

I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me,
And what can be the use of him is more than I can see.
He is very, very like me from the heels up to the head;
And I see him jump before me, when I jump into my bed.

The funniest thing about him is the way he likes to grow--
Not at all like proper children, which is always very slow;
For he sometimes shoots up taller like an india-rubber ball,
And he sometimes goes so little that there's none of him at all.

Sunny Days

We've had two short-sleeve-worthy days in a row, which is worth celebrating (and ending soon). Since dad is in Toronto this week, we're posting lots of pictures this week, so he can see what we've been doing.

We went to the park, and although the swings are always a big hit, exploring the grass and flowers was the highlight of this outing.

A Trip to the Zoo

On Saturday, we bundled up and headed to the zoo for the morning. Abby loved showing dad all the animals.

Here's a rare moment...Abby actually holding someone's hand (dad's, of course!)

Checking out the giraffes

The elephants were probably the favorite of the day.

Stopping to smell the flowers

Abby, what does the elephant say?

That's right!

I told you so!

No matter where we go, Abby usually picks up a stick of some sort...today was no exception.

p.s. a special thanks for the Farthing boys for the hand-me-down blue shoes worn on this outing...they are perfect for playing outside!

Fun Friday

On Friday, we had not one, but two fun outings.

First, we met Hayden and Leslie at Indoor Park at the Community Center

Abby and Hayden shared the fire truck...

..then took off in their own little cars around the gym. It has been so fun to see these two girls grow up together over the past year and a half. We'll certainly miss our fun outings with Hayden and Leslie.

That night, dad joined us for "Free First Friday" at the Children's Museum. As you can see from the pictures, Abby was pretty tired, but did have fun doing some exploring.

The rubber pellets were fun to play in...and cover your legs with...and we're still finding them around the house!

Checking out the cool artwork--a collage of different colored objects, including pacifiers "frozen" in plexiglass. Talk about a good way to get toddler's attention!

Who doesn't love some fun water activities?!

Trying to catch the water is harder than it looks!
